For The Love is the debut solo album by Swedish singer Maria Wells. The music was written by Maria’s husband, acclaimed pianist and composer Robert Wells, with lyrics by the bestselling Swedish crime writer, Camilla Läckberg.
Maria’s vocal group, The Vocalettes, has travelled the world with Robert Wells, in his show Rhapsody In Rock. The Vocalettes are frequently seen on Swedish television, and were honoured to perform at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, broadcast live to over 800 million people by China Central Television.
The group has appeared at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and was invited to perform for the King and Queen of Sweden at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. They have also toured with London West End star Rachel Tucker, and conductor Matthew Freeman, with the show Musicals Forever.
Maria has worked with many international stars, including Paul Carrack, Albert Lee, Glenn Hughes, Ronan Keating, Lionel Richie, Gino Vannelli, Paul Overstreet, Billy Dean and Franc D’Ambrosio.
In addition to her singing career, Maria is a successful author. She has written two books, Mammafälla (The Mother Trap) and Mammatankar (Mummy Thoughts), both humorous and heartfelt accounts of motherhood, which parents of all ages can relate to.
