TED KEY + THE KINGSTONS

Ted Key & The Kingstons are a 3-piece folk/rock band from Kingston upon Hull. Their story-led songs are influenced by dub reggae and punk, and reflect real-life events that have happened to lead vocalist Ted Key.

Ted Key was spotted by promoter Paul Greendale who brought him to London for a handful of solo spots. From this was born the current project, Ted Key and The Kingstons, in March 2017. With Paul on bass and renowned Ladbroke Grove drummer Nick Harrison, they formed a folky, funked-up reggae protest trio, with memorable tunes and thought-provoking, story-driven lyrics, powered on with blazing harmonica.

They have now performed over 30 gigs in the UK, including Hull and London. These include slots supporting The Vibrators and The Southmartins at the O2 Academy in Islington.

Since forming, Ted Key & The Kingstons have been consistently playing shows across the UK, including Ku Bar in Stockton on Tees, Kardomah in Hull, a sell-out show supporting The Housemartins tribute band The Southmartins at the 02 Academy London Islington and a sell-out headline show at Notting Hill’s Mau Mau Bar.

Their new single The Queen of Ella Street is available now, along with their debut album Raconteur Rock.
